New ESPN app replaces Watch ESPN on Roku,
adds support for ESPN+
The Watch ESPN program on Roku was rebranded and is currently
only"ESPN." The user interface can also be sporting a new look,
however, the largest upgrade to the program is the accession of the ESPN+
subscription service.
Started earlier this season, ESPN+ is a direct-to-consumer
that range from ESPN's parent Disney, which claims to"provide enthusiasts
a dynamic lineup of live sport, original articles along with an unmatched
library of award-winning programming -- to get a subscription cost of $4.99 a
month" or $49.99 each year. The service provides over 180 MLB and more
than 180 NHL matches; exclusive access to the total MLS Live out-of-market
program with over 250 matches; tens of thousands of live sports events, out of
more than a dozen conventions; 50 days of live contest out of 20 PGA TOUR
occasions; three of those yearly Grand Slam tennis events together with
countless men's and women's singles and doubles matches; and countless matches out
of international cricket and rugby.

Everything you will not be receiving with ESPN+ is the
alternative to ESPN channels available on pay TV services. Since Anthony Ha
states it at a Tech Crunch post,"ESPN is treating its own ESPN+ articles as
something almost completely different from its conventional TV offering.
But if you do sign up for some engaging pay TV service using
a bundle that includes ESPN, you are able to authenticate the ESPN Roku program
and access live streaming of ESPN's eight U.S. networks -- ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3,
ESPNU, ESPNEWS, ESPN Deportes, SEC Network, along with Longhorn Network --
combined with in-built access to complete episodes of favorite ESPN shows.
If you are a cordcutter who does not need to shell out any
cash for your ESPN+ service, you are not out of luck. You are still able to get
sports scores and observe movie highlights, news, and clips, characteristics
and analysis, and some displays.
